Protein Chocolate Almond Oatmeal

  • Time: 5 minutes
  • Servings: 1
  • Serving Size: 2.5 ounces
  • Stage: 4 Post-Op (Soft Foods)

INGREDIENTS:

  • Soy milk, unsweetened - 3 tbsp (45 grams)
  • Rolled oats, uncooked - 2 tbsp (12 grams)
  • Almond butter - 1 tbsp (16 grams)
  • Pure maple syrup - 1 tsp (7 grams)
  • Raw cacao powder - 1 tsp (2 grams)
  • Vanilla-flavored protein powder - 1/2 tbsp (3 grams)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Add the rolled oats and soy milk to a medium-sized bowl and place it in the microwave for 45 seconds. Remove the bowl, mix gently and microwave for another 45 seconds.
  2. Remove from the microwave and mix in the almond butter, maple syrup, cacao powder, and protein powder. Serve and enjoy!

*Note: Once cooked, you may also blend the oatmeal in a food processor if desired. We find that using vanilla-flavored protein powder and cacao powder tastes better than simply using chocolate protein powder but you're also welcome to use it.
